Tim Laurie was born and grew up in the city of Norwich, where this his debut novel is set. He graduated from Guildhall University in London, before going on to train as a teacher at the University of Oxford. Returning to live in Norwich, Tim is something of a Sunday cyclist (no lycra), and when not playing football or trying to paint, he divides his time between teaching and writing.
Tim's long-held ambition to write has taken some time to come to fruition, with a few false starts along the way, most notably after a trip to South-East Asia. The inspiration to begin Dead Innocent came from an episode in a gym changing room, though that chapter no longer features as part of the book - perhaps next time...
A second novel is planned, also set in Norwich, a city with a rich history, which Tim believes makes a great backdrop to his work.
